Recording a Breakout Conversation

We are preparing a report with comprehensive summaries of every breakout conversation, so if you are convening a conversation, it is really important that you activate the recording when you arrive in the breakout room. If you don’t, you will be obligated to write up as much of the conversation as you can from memory after the session!

  1. Click on the “More” button in the Zoom toolbar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. From the pop-up menu, choose “Recording”
  3. That’s all, it will now be recording

The recording button only appears if you have been authorised to record. Those who have proposed topics will be authorised before their session starts. If you are the proposer but are on a mobile device or for some other reason can’t record, you will need to ask someone else to leave the breakout room, ask Nathan to authorise them, and then return and start the recording.

At the end of your conversation, click the “Recording” button again and then from the two options that pop-up, choose “Stop Recording”.

At the end of the conference, Zoom will process the recording and save it to your computer. Shortly afterwards, you will receive an email from Nathan with instructions on how to find the saved recording and send it to him.
